The Return of A.J. Raffles; an Edwardian comedy in three acts based somewhat loosely on E.W. Hornung's Characters in The Amateur Cracksman.

London: The Bodley Head, [1975].

First edition, no. 58 of 250 copies signed by the author (only nos. 81-250 were offered for sale). 79, [1] pp. 1 vols. 16mo. Orange boards. Fine in printed dust jacket Item #353868

Nice copy of this late Greene whimsy, from the sequence of copies for presentation, with a loosely inserted Typed Letter from Greene (dictated; signed by secretary), 14 January 1976, to Thomas McDade (author of The Annals of Murder), disussing the idea of an inexpensive reprint of Glover-Greene, and conveying this copy of “my play about Raffles which the Royal Shakespeare have been performing”.
