Prime of the well known family was made Principal of the Seminary in 1831 after the Ladies who conducted it were relieved of their duties. The curriculum included Latin, Greek and French; Geology, Mineralogy, Botany and Zoology as well as Domestic Economy and Vocal Musick (sic). Everything the well turned out young ladies of the seminary would need to know.
