Choice English adaptation of the beast-headed people of French master J.J. Grandville, here in the light of the Great Exhibition in the Crystal Palace.
The illustrations are wood-engravings, mainly drawn by H.G. Hine and engraved by various hands,including S. & A. Slader, H. Vizetelly, W.G. Mason, A.J. Mason, and W. Measom.
Bound in at the back is an illustrated broadside announcement of Comical Creatures from Wurtemburg (repaired at verso along one fold). This volume is a sequel.
