Nice autograph letter, signed, from Charles Orvis (1831–1915), , Vermont angler, rod maker and outfitter, to New York manufacturer Henry Hall & Sons, reading in part:

“I have for two years bought my fly lines of Bradford & Anthony and the lines are very fine— but if you can send me as good a line at better prices I would prefer to purchase of you. I sell many more lines than I did … I cannot give you an order for Enmeled lines until I see sample. My trade demands the very best. … I buy for cash, don’t want time. Yours truly, C. F. Orvis”

With an autograph post card, signed (“C. F. Orvis”), 10 November 1880, requesting a price list with discounts, with Orvis ink stamp; a scrap of paper with Orvis ink stamp, undated (1880s?), requesting a sample of fly lines, initialled “C.F.O.”; and a typed letter, signed (“A.C. Orvis”) from Albert Orvis on Orvis Co. letterhead requesting a price quote for bass and tarpon line (1922).
