“Very rare Bibliographical Note. N.B. Cancelled sheet was here. Cancellation was caused chiefly by the circumstance of Lady ‘Dotty’ W.ll..l.y’s pomes being impermissibly advertised.”
On the title page Sassoon has doodled a self-caricature, also signed with his initials
“Lady Dotty”, Dorothy Wellesley, Duchess of Wellington, was a poet, biographer, and patron of the arts in the interwar years.
