Choice contemporary portrait of T.E. Lawrence in Damascus in October, 1918, after the series of victories which reshaped the map of the Middle East. At his moment of triumph, Lawrence resigned his position in the Arab army.
A similar example of the portrait exists in the Imperial War Museum, attributed to Harry Chase (Q 114044).
