This early work gives proof of Borges’ long-standing interest in the Icelandic Sagas and in Nordic literatures. Subsequently collected in his Historia de la eternidad (1936).
This copy with a contemporary presentation, inscribed “a Horacio A. Schiavo con la amistad de su colega en letras y en libros Jorge Luis Borges”.
Schiavo was a librarian who worked with Borges and a poet featured in the Exposición de la actual poesía argentina (1922-1927), published by Minerva in 1927, which also included texts by Borges.
