This deluxe, signed issue has an original mounted photograph (gelatin silver print) by Paul E. Davis on the front cover (this photograph is also printed within the book). The book was included in "The Art Of Photography, A Basic Library" by George M. Craven for The Friends Of Photography, Carmel, California, a comprehensive bibliography of photography books that The Friends of Photography considered to be of enduring interest. "This small but highly professional-looking volume is the result of a project that the two photographer brothers undertook in 1981. They both work in infrared, so they called for entries of infrared images by photographers across the country... [from] universities as well as individual photographers... there are plenty of substantial, creative, and unusual photographs being made by individual photographers who work within its confines..." [Amy Schiffman, American Photographer Magazine].
