"These twenty-seven plates of the Early Sculptured Monuments in the Parish Kirkyard of Govan, are printed in order to preserve their designs and to bring them within reach of students ... The photogravures have been made by Mssrs. Annan of Glasgow from casts made by Mr. J. W. Small of Stirling" (Introductory Note). The firm, Annan of Glasgow, was founded by Thomas Annan in 1855.
A scarce title; no copy has appeared at auction (per ABPC) since 1975. OCLC locates only six worldwide holdings, only two of which are in the United States.
