Autograph Letter, signed (“Cormac”), to author Lawrence Millman.

[El Paso: March 1981].

2 pp. in pencil on notepaper, undated, with autograph envelope signed McCarthy, postmarked El Paso, 21 March 1981. 1 vols. 8vo. Fine, envelope rubbed Item #324480

A nice friendly letter from Cormac McCarthy to author and traveller Lawrence Millman, noting that he rarely sends out pieces for magazine publication “with the exception (twice in 15 years) being if I am particularly importuned by somebody who seems decent. By all means let me hear any strange tales concerning El Paso. I’ve lived here off & on for about 7 years. To answer your question, I write on my book is what I do. […] it is warm & sunny most of the time, which I like.”
McCarthy offers to intercede with Random House on Millman’s behalf “in my limited capacity. Let me know. I also want to know about Miss Dillard.”
Signed: “All best, Cormac”.
