Account of the demonic possession of Richard Dugdale, formerly employed as a gardener and servant in Yorkshire, who became notorious and was visited by thousands. For a year, attempts at exorcism were performed without success. Dugdale was reported to speak in languages of which he had no knowledge, and thee events were seen alternately as genuine possession or as a gross imposture.
