Item #323373

The scarce two first parts of the highly important work known as the Temple of Flora, without the the third part with its famous color plates. The bibliographical complexity of the work bears witness to the fact that "[n]o two copies of this book are alike"" (Buchanan).

The present volume includes all of the portraits and plates listed by Dunthorne (including the often lacking plate of coffee), plus many additional anatomical and other plates not noted by Dunthorne. This example without the three plates relating to tea or the folding plates of Vesuvius noted by Dunthorne as occuring only in some copies.
