With approximately 80 mounted photographs ranging in size from nearly full sheet to groups of 9 mounted to a page, all neatly organized, ruled in ink, and with inked captions, identifiers and dates. Oblong folio, overall 10 3/4 x 14 inches (27 x 36 cm). Bound in modern three-quarters brown morocco over marbled boards with new endpapers Item #321920
The first leaf caption titled in ink "Ruth's first brush, given by J.A. Lord Esq. M.F.H./Snapshots by Capt. Jennings" and a second contemporary hand has written in pencil "Bombay Hunt ... 1905." The seventeen card leaves of this early album have been ,The images generally fine, the sheets with toning and a slight curl, attractively bound.
A fine album depicting a young girl named Ruth's experience at a hunt in Poona, 1900-1905. A large image shows the "Children's Fancy Dress Party/Given by Poona Bachelors/Poona Gymkhana", others show the lined up horses and dogs under the heading "Opening Meet", etc. A group of 9 smaller images at the end shows locations at "Singhur 1901-1905."
