After reviewing a history and definition of the cholera, Mead largely attributes the causes to climate and predisposition to an increased secretion of bile. Among the treatments suggested are hydration of clear or diluted liquids including thinned animal broths and alkaline salts in lime-juice. Also includes a review of possible anti-spasmodics including allum, columbo and cinchona.
