The first edition, first issue with the Maysville Kentucky imprint is considerably more scarce than the later issues published in Philadelphia and Cincinnati. Includes the tales of various frontier heroes, including Daniel Boone, William Crawford, and Francis Downing, with many of the Boone legends orginating here. Thomson calls it "the most complete collection of captivities and adventures ever published in one volume"
