Engraved title printed in sepia after Morland by Mackenzie, and 8 engraved plates after Morland (several in sepia), “The Farmer’s Stable” supplied from a different edition, and a fine engraved tailpiece. 1 vols. 4to. With 2 Miniatures by Miss Currie. Full green morocco Cosway style, richly gilt on covers, with an octagonal sunken panel and 2 miniatures (upper and lower covers) by MISS C.B. CURRIE under polished glass, after designs by J.H. Stonehouse for Riviere, gilt spine, silk doublures, a.e.g. Expertly rebacked, else fine and attractive. Quarter green morocco and marbled boards folding box.

The miniature on the upper cover (aprox. 5 x 4 inches) is of a fine fishing scene showing 6 people in a boat (two couples, with one white servant, one black servant), 4 of them holding rods, one of the servants with a net. The rear miniature shows the same party now on land, setting up a picnic.
Miss Caroline Binley Currie (1852-1940) was one of England's most famous miniature artists. She died at Sidmouth.
