L. Alcopley was the working name of German born artist Alfred Lewin Copley (1910- 1992). This illustrated volume had its roots in a symposium in Freiburg on Die Kunst und das Denken, Art and Thinking, and a conversation between Martin Heidegger and Hoseki Shin'ichi Hisamatsu which occurred there. The illustrations include the artist’s series of drawing entitled “structures of the spoken”.
