"The Mollyjoggers" was the name of a hunting and fishing club in Southwest Missouri along the James River, after a species of minnow found in the river and streams of the area. The author was asked by the proprietor Mr. H.S. Jewell of The Springfield Leadere to wrtite the stories herein after they were told by the author to his fishing friends after dinner.
