The first edition of one of the most popular works on globes of its era, which went through some 20 editions in the 18th century. Harris was influential as a teacher of mathematics and an expositor of Newtonian science. This work was originally developed for Harris' for his students and for a series of publick lectures he delivered at the Marine Coffee House in Birchin Lane.
