One leaf a bit closely trimmed (touching left border of repeated woodcut), else clean and sound; with a note in ink beneath the woodcut on last page dated 1779. In a defective late eighteenth century binding in patterned paper overboards (front inner hinge open, upper cover crudely repaired with modern papers). Good. Uncommon edition of a an early sixteenth century play (first published Siena, 1519), printed by Bonetti, printer at Siena from 1571 know for his vernacular and popular works. The last page is a nice woodcut device of Romulus and Remus suckling the she-wolf, and a later owner’s note below : “Il Quest libretto composto da me Luisa Nata a Riva olla Senna a l'anno 1779”

This little work is bound after the second edition of Francesco Della Valle, Le Lettere delle Dame. Venetia: Dal Ciotti, 1626; 1627. Engraved title page with arms of Federico Colonna, ornamental initials throughout. 186, [6]; 70 pp. Title page crudely backed; some staining. Lacking pp. 65/66 in the Nuova aggiunta alle lettere.
