"Juniper Club, a private organization based in Louisville, Kentucky, dates back to 1897 when a group of Louisville men were invited to hunt and fish together as the guests of the Jessamine Hunting Club (Jessamine County, Kentucky). Organized as the Gregory Hunting Club from 1903-1908, the group incorporated as the Juniper Hunting Club in 1909 when they purchased land in central Florida on Lake George (a widening of the St. Johns River), near Astor”.
