A fine facsimile of the first book on tennis in the English language.. Lukin was one of the great players of his time and secretary to the Tennis Club -- an organization devoted to Court Tennis, the game described here by Lukin. Certainly there are previous mentions of the game of tennis as early as Shakespeare, but no previous single book had ever been devoted to the subject.
