Wishing Hutchinson a Happy New Year and enquiring about the proper address for a reply he wished to send to Samuel Campbell at the “New York Mills.” Curtis was a member of the Brook Farm Community in the early 1840s, he was editorial writer for “Harper's Monthly” and then after 1863 editor of “Harpers Weekly.” He was an influential writer and lecturer, among his publications “The Potiphar Papers” “Lotus Eating” and “Prue and I.”
