For this edition Hardy revised his novels throughout for the last time. There is a General Preface (dated October, 1911) at the beginning of Vol. One (Tess) that specifies how and why he has done this and the 3 categories that the novels are broken up into.
Lacking only the last two volumes of verse "Lates Lyrics (1926) and Human Shows (1931).
