First and only edition of McAlmon's second book, his first collection of prose, and the first volume produced by his influential publishing company, at the vanguard of American expatriate letters in the 1920s. The title was suggested by Joyce and the book was printed by Maurice Darantière shortly before his printing of Ulysses.
Laid into this copy is the printed broadside, "From an h'English Printer to an English Publisher," distributed with copies of the book but often not present.
