Inscribed on front free-endpaper with a drawing of a comical monster wearing a hat, saying: "To Elaine? yes Alechinsky," and dated "NY 4 7 65." This pamphlet served as a museum catalogue for a 1965 of Alechinsky's work that appeared first at The Arts Club of Chicago, then at The University Gallery at the University of Minnesota, and finally at The Jewish Museum in New York.
A Belgian artist based in France, Alechinsky emerged as a notable abstract painter in the 1950s and 1960s, in particular due to his collaborations with Japanese and Chinese visual artists.
