Item #309387

The definitive set of works by Churchill, produced with the cooperation of the Churchill Centenary Commitee and the Churchill family. The Collected Works comprises all of this famous statesman's books, as well as the Wood bibliography and a monograph by Wood on Churchill's writings produced especially for this set. The general editor was Frederick Woods. Without the additional four volumes of essays.
The Library of Imperial History went bankrupt before the projected run of 3,000 sets could be completed, so "the print run never exceeded 2,000 copies and only 1750 sets were ever published" (Cohen).
