A handsome and finely illustrated set of Cooper's works, number 21 of 63 copies, with an original autograph leaf of 42 lines from the manuscript of Cooper's 1848 novel, "The Oak Openings; or, The Bee Hunter" tipped-in to the first volume. The novel takes place in Kalamazoo, Michiigan's Oak Opening during the War of 1812 and is about honey-hunter "Ben Buzz."
