This is the first book written by an American player about the game. Basically all preceding American books on lawn tennis are rule books. Dwight (1852-1915) was American doubles champion with the great R.D. Sears from 1882-84. Dwight introduced the sport in America after an 1874 trip to Europe. Dwight founded the US National Lawn Tennis Association.
