This poem bears the inscription "written by Ld. Camelford on his own & Ld. M. Edgecumbe's Birthday"
This observation seems doubtful, as the birthday of Thomas Pitt, 1st Baron Camelford was 3 March 1737 (d. 1793) and the birthday of George Edgeumbe, 1st Earl of Mount Edgcumbe was 3 March 1720 (d. 1795), but the poem itself is not without charm.
