Item #308483

A fine series of etchings of antique gems by Thomas Worlidge (1700-1766), the renowned portraitist who turned his attention to etching later in life. The bibliographical details of this edition are unclear. It was originally printed in octavo without letterpress in 1768, with this quarto edition appearing sometime after 1780. Sinkankas calls for numbered plates, though in this copy the plates are not numbered.
