A finely-bound set of first and early editions of the major later poetical works of George Crabbe (1754-1832). Includes a first edition of The Borough, tales of village life told in a series of letters in heroic couplets. Letter XXII recounts the tale of the child-murderer Peter Grimes and was the source of the libretto for Benjamin Britten's opera of the same name.
