Modern full brown morocco, with original black leather title label printed in gold on upper cover, with original printed paper front wrapper bound in. Faint marginal dampstaining and early marginal repairs to a few plates, long pencil annotation at head of title. Abbey Scenery 19; Sutton p. 139 & #41 on Appendix 1 p. 174. A scarce work by the great English landscape painter and printmaker William Daniell (1769-1837). Subjects include several maritime scenes, landscapes, and mammals exotic and domestic, including a leopard, elephant, jackall, bison, highland bull, cape sheep, etc. The "cattle" plate is possibly a proof impression on lighter stock.
