Leonard Mascall was an English author and translator who became a clerk in the household of Matthew Parker, archibishop of Canterbury. He died in 1589, and is credited with several works on household management, gardening, animal husbandry, and agriculture.

This is an early edition of this oft-reprinted gardening manual. The text is largely a translation taken from David Brossard's L'art et manière de semer et de faire Pépinières de sauvageaux (Paris, 1552).

ESTC identifies 8 English editions from the first translation of 1569 to this 1592 edition.
