Mcquade's account of the Montauk's cruise from New York to the Caribbean, which included stops at Bermuda, St. Kitt's, St. Pierre, Martinique, Trinidad, Curacoa, Jamaica, Cuba, and Florida.
Tipped in at the front free endpaper is a bifolium of mourning stationery titled "Finis", commemorating the death Commodore Platt. Dated December 17, 1884. Morris and Howland confirm that this "Finis" is not present in all copies.
