The remarkable story of the indomitable heroine Odette Hallowes, whose work in France with Peter Churchill as an agent of the Special Operations Executive led to her arrest and torture by the Gestapo, and her eventual imprisonment in Ravensbrück concentration camp. This copy bears two and a half pages of manuscript notes on flyleaves and half-title, recounting a conversation between the French journalist Michel Droit and Peter Churchill, Odette’s supervisor, concerning Fresnes prison where both Odette and Churchill were confined and tortured.
