These were, notes Ordeman, “the first aquatints depecting contemporary American foxhunting scenes ever published … ‘The First Flight’ was the first print published, and it was only after it had proven popular that Mr. Connett issued the three prints that completed the set.” This set of the colorist’s models are the surviving examples of King's own coloration for this historic series.
