Major produced a fine series of editions of the Complete Angler from 1823 to 1844, this being the final one.
This copy has a set of India Paper proofs of the wood engravings bound-in, with an added facsimile of the title page cartouche from the 1653 Angler (from the first Major edition). Coigney notes that one of his large paper copies had a set of proofs bound in; an earlier note in this copy suggests only ten sets of proofs of the wood engravings were produced.
