Brasher was a well-known bird artist, whose most noted work was "Birds and Trees of North America". This is an early work with a fine inscription, “To my friend 'Marguerite' An officer in the army fighting for a Square deal to the little wildwood people. Rex Brasher” (With vignette in the "R" of man smoking a pipe).
