Mid 18th-century Dutch binding of red Russia, a.e.g., tooled in gold to a panel design with corner pieces and center piece made up of volutes and small tools, spine with five raised bands and compartments richly gilt with corner- and centerpieces, lettered in one compartment, remnants of string ties, extremities very lightly rubbed, armorial bookplate and shelf-label on front pastedown, bright and fresh internally, and near fine.
