Frances F. Cleveland (1864-1947) was the youngest woman (21 years old) to serve as First Lady, the first First Lady to be married in the White House (to Grover Cleveland), and the first to serve two non-consecutive terms. Because of her beauty and charm, Frances provoked keen popular interest — s he was very much the “Jackie Kennedy” of her own day. She also became the first presidential widow to remarry (in 1913, to Thomas Preston, professor of archaeology at Princeton) after her husband’s death (in 1908).
