The text, in the form of detailed tables, lists the officers with Scott, where they were employed, and whether they were killed or wounded, or distinguished themselves.   "Printed on the occupying army's own press" - Howes.  This copy includes the plan of the battles in the vicinity of Mexico City, which is often lacking, and it include the extra two lines of errata. This copy has the ownership inscription of Mexican War veteran J.R. Smith of Sackett's Harbor, N.Y.  Smith is listed on page fourteen of this work; he participated in the battles at San Geronimo and Contreras & Churubusco on August 19th and 20th, where he was severely wounded and disabled for the remainder of the campaign.

A scarce work, in original condition, made particularly nice through interesting provenance.
