Caricature depicting funeral procession for old Tammany, in which the editor of the "Courier & Enquirer" drives the hearse and leads the procession of prominent citizens (Garrit Gilbert and William M. Price among them) and newspapermen. The note reads: "The lamented individual had been long suject to a vast complication of disorders which, though combatted with great skill and perserverance by doctors Humbug, Monopoly, & Office, at last carried him off." Tammany Hall is depicted in the right background beneath an American flag flying at half mast.
