A reply to Mr. Doxey, describing his son’s illness and surgery, “Tho it was successful and my boy is getting over it very well, my work piled up on me in the mean time and I may be too busy to attend to the drawings you want. I have, however, got the two books together. Stuff and Nonsense [an anthology of his works that advanced the concept of time-stop drawings and contained other innovations] and The Bull Calf and I think there is not a drawing missing from either in fact there are a number over … you certainly can have the refusal of them … I will get together several sets of my other caricatures and send them to you as soon as I can get a little time"
