In the first letter Goyen accepts the invitation to participate in the Writers Conference in July, the second requests the removal of a student from the class as “his behavior has been intolerable” and the last, notifying Humphreys of his leaving McGraw-Hill and working full time on a novel and enquiring about participating in the Writers Conference again.
