An interesting example of original artwork Cox (1840-1912) appears to have completed for "St Nicholas Illustrated Magazine for Girls and Boys," May 1881. The story is titled "The King and the Clown," and captioned in pencil: "His Royal back he'd stoop / to chase a rolling hoop / Or do the game of leap frog with the wildest of the group." Two leaves from the original periodical included.
