Translation of a French manuscript of Mandeville's Itinerarium., and for centuries a standard book for travellers. "Mandeville is said to have set out on his travels in 1322, and after visiting Egypt, Palestine, Tartary, India, the Indian isles, etc., returned home in 1355. His death is set at 1371." (Cox, I, 319). This is the second issue of the "best English edition" (Lowndes), and "the completest edition up to date" (Cox).
