¶A very good letter from Ayn Rand's colleague stating “I am a firm believer in the value of education. The problem in today's world, however, is to get a good one. Is college experience necessary for creative writing? No; not necessarily. Can it be desirable? you bet! I would encourage your students to study, not only literature, but also philosophy and history. Let them become acquainted with the classics. Let them get a proper gounding in ‘the western tradition’”.
