¶Responding to a question about the importance of his high school education and asking whether the college experience was necessary in creative writing. He writes “All education is meaningful or worthless–depending on what you make of it. But when it is meaningful, it is the factor above all else that makes life something more than a rat race from the cradle to the grave.” The note reads “By all means–High school and college–No other way today” (2).
