Dr. Archie Crandell was a psychiatrist at New Jersey State Hospital at Greystone beginning in 1930; he later became the Medical Superintendent in 1950. The eccentric and unbalanced Mahlon Blaine was a patient of Dr. Crandell's at Greystone around 1940-1941, when he inscribed this book
